About

Get To Know Me

I’m Alix (she/her) and I’m a multidisciplinary creative with a unique background in circus, movement, photography, and visual story telling. I have a BFA in acting from CalArts and have worked in the Film & TV industry for over 7 years. I'm lucky to have travelled the world as a professional actor, award-nominated choreographer, published photographer, assistant director, field producer, and onset supervisor.

I have always been drawn to physical storytelling, the human connection, and the vulnerability it takes to create these stories. I take a particular interest in ‘Play’ as it’s a vital part of acting and intimacy. And it’s my goal to help actors feel confident to follow their impulses and to use boundaries to unlock their ‘sense of play’ in moments of on-screen intimacy.

I view intimacy as another form of dance. Each dance piece is unique and expressive, ranging from very theatrical and elaborate to subtle and grounded — And Intimate scenes are just as unique.

What I Do as an Intimacy Coordinator?

  1. Choreograph and coach movement for scenes with intimacy, simulated sex, and nudity.

  2. Act as a liaison between performers and production.

  3. Implement Protocols for intimate scenes.

  4. A resource for the director to help achieve their vision through story specific consent

  5. Advocate for actors on set so they feel confident in vulnerable and intimate scenes for better storytelling.

“We did the intimate scenes like stunts—we blocked them out, so you have yoga balls in between you and all sorts of things that never make you feel exposed in any way. You always feel safe…I think it would have been a very difficult experience if [the intimacy coordinator] hadn't been on set protecting me and looking after me.”
